Aloha Bouy

UPDATE: Japanese Bouy recovered in Hawaii

On January 18th, one of the Pacific Missile Range Facility's Weapon Recovery boat pulled a Japanese buoy was pulled out of the water less than 2 miles from shore in Nohili Point, Kuau'i.

Photos of the bouy were sent to NOAA, which confirmed that many marine organisms on the bouy matched those having been found on previously confirmed debris.

Additionally, a photo of the writing on the buoy was sent to the Japanese Consulate.  The inscription identifies the buoy as coming from the Onahama port of Fukushima.
